Cut the Chase!  was written for Clarinettist Peter Jenkin who asked various composers to write one minute solo unaccompanied works for clarinet. The work follows on from the Tango for clarinet and piano with its use of pitch bends, multiphonics and register leaps. The challenge for the player is to maintain forward  momentum without noticeable breath intakes.
